About A. Vaughn

A. is a creative nonfiction writer who lives in the Pacific Northwest. Her goal in her writing is to respectfully infuse whimsy and wonder into painful subjects and themes such as complex grief, the burdens of caregiving, generational trauma, and dementia. When she’s not doing research or volunteering in her community, you can find her reading romantasy, moonlighting as a bartender, painting, making pottery, or cuddling with her dog Lt. Dan and cat Goat.

A.’s earliest memories of writing were from the first grade. At night after she was supposed to be in bed, she would curl up in her closet with a flashlight, her pink fairy journal (that locked for maximum security), and her favorite pencil. Her first book was an enemies-to-lovers romance about two racehorses named Merrylegs and Shovel who were pinned against each other in the Kentucky Derby.
